FBI – Internet Fraud Complaint Center

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) joined forces in a unique partnership to aid and protect consumers in this largely unregulated environment. The Internet Fraud Complaint Center (IFCC) is the result of that venture. Its Web site provides a mechanism for victims of Internet fraud to report fraud on-line – where it occurred – to the appropriate law enforcement and regulatory authorities.

Federal Communications Commission

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent United States government agency, directly responsible to Congress. The FCC was established by the Communications Act of 1934 and is charged with regulating interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite and cable. The Global Technology Corps (sponsored by the U.S. State Department) draws off the expertise and enthusiasm of technology-literate Americans to develop Internet training programs at libraries, universities, and other government or non-government sites abroad.

National Institute of Standards and Technology

United Nations Information Technology Service

The United Nations Information Technology Service creates a worldwide program for information technology volunteers. They work with developing country partners to strengthen capacities for applying information and communications technologies (ICT) to human development, in particular in areas such as health, education, environment and small and micro- enterprises.

World Trade Organization

The World Trade Organization (WTO) is the only global international organization dealing with the rules of trade between nations. At its heart are the WTO agreements, negotiated and signed by the bulk of the world’s trading nations and ratified in their parliaments. The goal is to help producers of goods and services, exporters, and importers conduct their business.
