SeaChange integrates SecureMedia software

SeaChange International Inc. will beef up its video-on-demand system with the addition of digital rights management features.

The VOD systems provider plans to integrate SecureMedia Inc.'s Encryptonite System (DRM) software to increase the secure levels of encryption, key management and rights enforcement for content delivered in IP-based VOD applications. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The open platform DRM software is designed to secure virtually any media type and format on a variety of hardware and operating systems. The software does not detract from video stream bandwidth.

SeaChange turned to SecureMedia to enable its customers to expand the deployment of IP-based VOD with confidence by addressing security asset concerns, according to SeaChange.
